A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.

Facilities🎌・Hot Springs♨️

Sumi is a renowned culinary inn representing Yamaga. Named after the respected shamisen master whom the founding proprietress studied under, Sumi was established over 60 years ago as a kaiseki ryokan. It remains a beloved local hot spring and culinary destination. Enjoy consistently fresh, skin-soothing waters from our exceptional, abundant natural springs. Our hot spring baths feature a silky smooth alkaline spring with a pH of 9.5. The panoramic baths allow you to relax and enjoy your soak while taking in the scenery of Yamaga. We offer three grades of guest rooms. Rooms with private hot springs prioritize water quality and are recommended for those who wish to enjoy the “source spring” in private. We strive to preserve the nostalgic charm of the Showa era while ensuring your comfort.
