A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.
Our inn, standing at the entrance to Kurokawa Onsen town, is a 50-year-old wooden Japanese-style ryokan. The open-ceiling space features unique Japanese lighting, while the windows overlook a Japanese garden where the gentle murmur of the Tadahara River and the slow, rhythmic sound of a waterwheel create a soothing atmosphere. At Yumerindo, brimming with traditional Japanese charm, we invite you to spend a healing moment. Guided by the rindou flower’s meaning, “true kindness,” we welcome each guest with wholehearted hospitality.
Enjoy free-flowing hot spring water. Named “Rindō” (Gentian) after the legend of wounded, weary animals finding healing and renewed strength in these waters before returning to the mountains, the water is gentle on the skin, allowing you to experience “true kindness.” Its tranquility, untouched by the hustle and bustle of the city, soothes the traveler’s heart.
Traditional lighting, warm wooden architecture, and views of the garden and river create a calm, deeply Japanese ambiance.
The local areas of Aso and Minamioguni experience significant temperature fluctuations, yielding abundant highland vegetables with a distinctive sweetness. Our kaiseki meals feature seasonal local produce, reflecting the chef’s dedication to creating dishes that “delight the eyes and are savored slowly by the tongue.” Enjoy our heartfelt cuisine from appetizers to dessert.
