A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.
Yufuin, one of Japan’s premier hot spring destinations. Nestled amidst the majestic nature of Mount Yufu, far from the hustle and bustle, stands the hot spring inn “Ikkoten.” Its approximately 7,600 square meter grounds feature only ten detached guest cottages. Each cottage offers a distinct ambiance, beautifully blending traditional and modern, Japanese and Western styles. Ikkoten’s waters are cherished as an alkaline simple hot spring, flowing directly from the source to gently envelop the skin, renowned for its beautifying properties. Every guest room features a private open-air bath, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in nature. You can also enjoy private family baths with magnificent views overlooking Mount Yufu.

We prepare Japanese kaiseki cuisine using only the finest local ingredients, generously selected by our head chef: fresh Seki horse mackerel, Seki mackerel, Oita Wagyu beef, and more. We offer a limited service of just 10 groups per day, so you can wholeheartedly enjoy this special feast. Savor your meal at your leisure in a private dining room, offering a different ambiance from your guest room. All water at our inn comes from the spring waters of Mt. Yufu—the water in your kettle, your coffee, and even the water used in cooking. It is a special soft water with a gentle taste; please take a moment to savor it. Furthermore, between your hot spring baths and rest periods, we host an aperitif in the lounge as a prelude to dinner.
