A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.
In spring, feel the vibrant vitality of young leaves bursting forth, listening to birdsong filtering through the trees. In summer, stretch your feet into the river’s flow on the riverbank where the chorus of cicadas rivals the babbling brook. In autumn, admire the deepening hues of the changing leaves while observing small animals busily preparing for winter. In winter, gaze leisurely at the leaden clouds from the open-air bath tub, already thinking of the coming spring. This is an inn rich in nature, offering unique pleasures for each season. The inn overlooks the clear streams of the Kusu River. You can reserve private time in the open-air bath for free.
Our prized hot spring is classified as a “simple spring,” with a slight hydrogen sulfide odor and a soft, smooth feel on the skin. Its key feature is the optimal source temperature of 49°C (126°F).
We deliver source water directly to the baths without exposing it to air underground—described as a “freshly squeezed hot spring from the earth,” offering a highly refreshing soak.
Nestled in the mountains and valleys, we incorporate abundant local ingredients. Savor dishes unique to this blessed region, featuring “local free-range chicken,” “Bungo beef,” “fresh vegetables from local farms,” and “river fish like sweetfish.” Morning and evening meals are served in your room.
