A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.
Our inn was founded in 1875 and is one of the oldest ryokan in Myoban Onsen, a tranquil mountain hot spring area within Beppu City. In 2025, we celebrated our 150th anniversary. All guest rooms face the sea, with views over Beppu’s cityscape framed by Myoban Bridge and Beppu Bay. Our hot spring is a very rare acidic sulfur spring. With its distinctive sulfur scent, the milky blue water—often compared to celadon—heals both body and mind. Naturally, it is 100% free-flowing from the source. Myoban Onsen’s water is a hydrogen sulfide spring with strong acidity (pH 3 or below), long known for its efficacy in skin diseases, neuralgia, diabetes, and more.

Yunohana contains the beneficial components of Myoban Hot Springs. Its production method—unchanged since the Edo period—is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan. “Myoban Yunohana” is produced exclusively in the Myoban district of Beppu City.
