A brief guide to hot springs, dining, and travel directions.
Effective October 24, 2025, our inn name has changed from Kaizan to Sainokou. This charming inn features reclaimed timber from a century ago. As you walk along the stone path to the main building, soothing slow jazz welcomes you. With just 10 detached guest rooms, you can relax without worrying about others. We are located in Horita Onsen, one of Beppu’s renowned “Eight Hot Springs” (Beppu Hatto). Sainokou quietly stands in this area, long cherished as a healing retreat. The excellent-quality waters of Horita and peaceful time overlooking Mt. Tsurumi create a special stay. We take pride in offering open-air and indoor baths in every room. Enjoy refreshing baths with 24-hour natural spring water flow anytime you wish, gazing at the night sky without concern for other guests. “Beppu Hatto” collectively refers to eight hot spring villages, each with distinct water qualities and atmospheres—explore the hot spring town and interact with locals at footbaths and public bathhouses.
A calm, private stay with just 10 detached guest rooms—each featuring both open-air and indoor baths with 24-hour flowing natural spring water.
